helloo! its been a long time eh.
im beat. i feel like ive been all over Singapore this weekend. Especially the East side ( Expo, Eunos-thrice in two days!, Kembangan, Simei, Tampines, Changi-twice!)
Saturday- Preparations for jang's birthday and jam. Guitar lesson. Band jam. Sundown marathon at 12:00am.
Sunday- Running Sundown in the wee hours. Breakfast after run. Unloaded stuff at Xiuting's place- final preparations for jang's party, slept for less than an hour. Church. Jang's party. Stayed over at Changi chalet.
Today- Left chalet. Xiuting's place to collect all my stuff. One long bus ride back to the west and im finally home!
im really really REALLY thankful to God that i survived Sundown.
Isaiah 41:30 kept me going
Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength
They shall mount up with wings like eagles
They shall run and not be weary
They shall walk and not faintThe aftermath of it wasnt so bad. im aching, but not severely handicapped, and no injuries thank God. But during the run..lets just say a marathon is long! And tiring. i prefer Standard Chartered's route. For Sundown, we were made to run up overhead bridges! And slopes! We ran across the length of a few parks (East coast, Simei and Tampines), which sounds ok, but is actually boring and monotonous. The road seems to stretch endlessly before you with no end in sight. i suppose i should have trained more consistently for my run la. Timing wasn't as good as my previous marathon. But YAY. i completed it. And i love the finisher's shirt. heh. it may be awhile before i attempt another.hahaa IF i even attempt another.
oh yes. BEEG thank you to xiuting and darren for being my roadies on saturday! hahaa. they carried all my stuff including my guitar which weighs a ton, and my bag with 3 days worth of clothes to xt's place so i wouldnt have to lug them all the way to changi for the marathon. thanks xt for letting me crash at your place, and for waking up so early to fetch me! i really appreciate it! :)
im zonked. i shall now revert to a pictoral post. Camera's spoilt so not many pics. Something's wrong with the exposure:( yoke yeong and huiting send me pics from jang's party!
Jamming with band mates
Outside Odiocrib

Dont i look like a convincing drummer.

Gi-normous shoes on the shoe rack.
heh one of us commented that they looked like shoes King Kong would wear. Then immediately all of turned to the studio room next door where there was some weird metal band playing, whose vocalist was "singing" and making weird growling noises. Hilarious!
(i hope the shoe-owner does not find my blog)
Musicians and their emo moments.Presenting....

Emo moment £1 : Darren Sam on lead male vox
So unprofessional. Hold lyrics and sing. heh

Emo moment £2: Darren Peh our real drummer.
His shirt matched the studio's drum set!

Emo moment £3:Daniel Tan on my Les Paul
Musicians and their happy moments

Me on my Les Paul.
An example of Tony's lousy photo-taking skills
hmm thats it. hahaa maybe i need to meet more happy people.
Random jam
Tony's room is a musician's dream: Drum set, 2 electric guitars, a marshall amp, drum track machine, some mixer thing. All he needs is soundproofing!

hahaa and THIS is how tony plays guitar!
Sundown MarathonBefore:

Raymond and i camwhoring at Changi Village Hotel lobby

At Sundown venue
This couldve been a nice pic! Well at least it shows the different people who took part, both young and old. heh.
After:-

Outside hotel lobby again.
Our nice finisher's shirt! Smiling for the camera despite our after-run agony.
